These teapots are from the studio of Master Zhou of Yi Xing, China. They are made by Master Zhou's apprentices according to classical Qing Dynasty designs. The pots were commissioned by one of the leading tea masters in Asia and are made precisely according to his specifications. They are made with 40-50 year aged purple sand (zi sha) clay. In keeping with the traditional methods of teapot production, they are slab-built-handmade. Not only do these teapots outperform most every modern pot, the master assures us that they also outperform most Wen Ge (cultural revolution era) and even many Min Guo (Republic of China 1911-1949) pots. This has been our experience as well and as such we are proud to offer these exceptional pots to our customers. The tea pot goes even further than the leaves themselves in ensuring a great tea session, and each session improves on the last as the teapot gathers the tea resins and essences. Each purple sand pot has a natural flat multiple-hole filter in the spout and each pot comes with it's own unique simple but pleasing storage and shipping box, customized to fit the pot for safest transport.
